Alexander Technique [ top ] | |
The challenges and fast-changing demands of modern life can so occupy our thoughts that we forget about that most important consideration: ourselves. By adopting the principles of the Alexander Technique, breathing and speaking become easier, movement becomes freer, lighter and more enjoyable. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring six thin paperback books and something to lie on. | |

Bridge for Beginners [ top ] | |
A course for beginners to learn how to play the exciting game of bridge. Also suitable for those with some experience. | |

Cake Icing & Sugar Flowers [ top ] | |
A course for beginners and intermediates. Students will learn skills such as frilling, covering with royal icing and sugar paste, as well as sugar flower techniques including finishing and wiring together to make beautiful sprays. | |

This class will explore a wide variety of craft techniques and materials including rubber stamping and embossing, parchment craft, decoupage, glass painting, candle crafts, plant pot decorating, gift bags and boxes, cross stitch and lots more. Also lots of gifts and ideas, at very little cost. Suitable for all ages and abilities. | |

This class is for people of all abilities from beginners to those wishing to further their skills. Students can learn how to use sewing machines to the full, and follow dressmaking patterns. | |

Flower Arranging [ top ] | |
Both real and artificial flowers are used in this class. Students will be shown how to use readily available plants to make seasonal arrangements. No previous experience is required. | |

Leeds & Around [ top ] | |
A course dealing with the history of Leeds from around 600AD to today, with talks, slide presentations, walks and visits (weather permitting) to Museums, Galleries, Churches and places of interest in and around Leeds. We shall also look at the history of the surrounding areas. There will be time for discussion and for sharing experiences and memories of old Leeds. This lively and friendly group is led by John Ashbee, an official Leeds City Guide and Tourist Guide. | |

This class is suitable for students of all ability levels, from beginners to more advanced. You will be shown techniques such as quilting, piping etc. and be able to apply these in the making of soft furnishings for the home. Included are cushions, curtains, lamp shades, bedspreads, loose covers and many more. | |

St John Lifesaver [ top ] | |
This St John Ambulance approved course runs for the full term with an assessment at the end. Students will be expected to buy the manual, and to pay the assessment fee of £20 which also includes a workbook. | |

This is a very relaxing series of talks and slide shows given by a panel of speakers. They will give their own views of our wonderful planet, and encourage discussions, together with an occasional visit extra to the course if the students wish. | |

Yoga [ top ] | |
Yoga is a non-competitive way of keeping the total body fit and reducing tension. This class is for both men and women, who can learn gentle exercises using concentration and breathing combined with relaxation techniques for mind and body. This class is for beginners and those who have some experience. Wear loose clothing and bring a rug or mat to lie on. | |
